PACE

PACE might be the right choice for you if your looking for an elderly care solution in Massachusetts. This program allows eligible residents to meet their health care needs in the community instead of a nursing home or other facility. It is composed of a group health care professionals working together to provide coordinated healthcare. Each team specializes in one resident, so caregivers are able to get to know each patient well. It is possible that enrollees will be required to visit a PACE-preferred provider.

Senior Community Service Employment Programs

The Boston College Center on Aging and Work and the Center for Social Innovation have developed Senior Community Services Employment Programs (SCSEP) for older adults. They are federally funded and state-administered programs that train and place older adults in jobs in elder care. These programs can help participants overcome barriers to employment, and promote physical and psychological well-being. This article provides an overview about SCSEP in Massachusetts elder care.

SHINE counselors

SHINE counselors are trained volunteers who can help you navigate the Medicare system. They specialize in the options that are available to people with low resources. These include Medicare Parts A & B, Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug Coverage, and Medicare Parts A & B. They can also help you make informed decisions about how to pay for your health care. The federal agency that supervises Medicare supports the SHINE Program financially and in kind by more than 400 community-based organisations.
